Fire chiefs, chief building officials, and community chief administrative officials may request a single copy of the FSRS or BCEGS free of charge.

If you're a fire service official, go to Fire Chiefs Online to access your complimentary copy of the FSRS. If you're not yet registered, register here.

If you're a building official or community chief administrative official, mail your request on building department or chief administrative official's letterhead to access your complimentary copy of the BCEGS to:

The revised Fire Suppression Rating Schedule (FSRS) — PDF copy ONLY — $100
The Fire Suppression Rating Schedule (FSRS) is a manual containing the criteria ISO uses in reviewing the firefighting capabilities of individual communities. The schedule measures the major elements of a community's fire suppression system and develops a numerical grading called a Public Protection Classification (PPC™).

The 1980 FSRS — PDF copy ONLY — $100
The 1980 FSRS is the previous manual containing the criteria ISO uses in reviewing the firefighting capabilities of individual communities. This schedule will be used in Texas only.

The Building Code Effectiveness Grading Schedule (BCEGS®) — $68.85
The Building Code Effectiveness Grading Schedule (BCEGS®) is a manual containing the criteria ISO uses to assess the building codes in effect in a particular community as well as how the community enforces its codes. The program particularly emphasizes building code requirements designed to mitigate losses from natural hazards. The schedule develops a numerical grading called a BCEGS classification.
