National Fire Operations Reporting System Stakeholder Meeting

Butch Cobb, national director of ISO’s Community Hazard Mitigation Programs, and Bob Glunt, PPC technical coordinator, Risk Engineering, attended a stakeholder meeting on March 19 and 20 at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. for the National Fire Operations Reporting System. The goal of the National Fire Operations Reporting System Project, through a collaborative process, is to identify and define the data elements required to collect, measure, and analyze fire operations and their effect on firefighter injury and death, civilian injury and death, and property damage and loss.

The project will continue with small group workshops. Butch Cobb will participate in the On Scene Fire Operations Workgroup, and Bob Glunt will participate in the Fire System Structure Workgroup, both scheduled for later this month. The National Fire Operations Reporting System Project is an extension of the 2011 National Fire Service Data Summit. ISO received an exclusive invitation to the summit. Butch Cobb represented us there, and we continue to play an active role in all events and projects.
