At the IAFC Fire-Rescue International, held in August 2009 in Dallas, Chief Billy Goldfeder conducted a “Through the Smoke” podcast titled “What Do You Know About ISO?” for Firehouse.com. Chief Goldfeder’s guests were Mike Waters, ISO’s vice president of Risk Decision Services, and Robert “Butch” Cobb, ISO’s director of Community Hazard Mitigation. The purpose of the podcast was to discuss the positive results of improved fire-protection efforts and ISO’s commitment to assisting communities with fire-protection challenges. It's a manual containing the criteria Verisk uses in reviewing the fire prevention and fire suppression capabilities of individual communities or fire protection areas.
